Accelerometer data collection and processing

Our academics have been at the forefront of establishing valid and reliable assessment of sedentary behaviour and physical activity, developing robust methods for cleaning and processing accelerometer data as well as generating new metrics. We offer the following collaboration or service options in this area:

  1. Advice on accelerometer data collection i.e., accelerometer choice, initialising, storage, provision of generic SOPs or SOPs tailored to individual requirements

  2. Training on how to charge, initialise and download accelerometer data, provision of generic SOPs or SOPs tailored to individual requirements

  3. Training on how to process accelerometer data (one-to-one or group), provision of generic SOPs or SOPs tailored to individual requirements, advice on accelerometer outcomes and provision of generic scripts for generation of outcomes

  4. Accelerometer data processing service including drafting text for reports/publications for accelerometer data

  5. Extra outcome variables added to accelerometer data processing programmes

We may also be able to offer accelerometer loans, depending on availability and requirements.

Please contact Professor Charlotte Edwardson and/or Dr Alex Rowlands for more information.
