Tommy Slater
I started working within the Leicester Lifestyle & Health Research Group as a Researcher in November 2022 after completing my PhD at Nottingham Trent University. My PhD explored the effects of different nutrition interventions (fasting and carbohydrate restriction) on the metabolic and appetite responses to acute exercise. Prior to this, I studied at Loughborough University, completing a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science in 2017 and an MSc in Sport & Exercise Nutrition in 2018. I am originally from Birmingham and support Aston Villa.
Favourite way to be active
Previously a competitive swimmer and triathlete, but now mostly running and climbing, as I have a tendency to crash my bike.
