Sedentary Behaviour

What we do?

Our group has been at the forefront internationally in furthering the understanding of the relationship between sedentary behaviour and health. Our research in this area spans the whole translational research pathway from laboratory studies examining the impact of breaking up sitting time with different physical activity types on health, epidemiology work to understand the role of sedentary behaviour in morbidity and mortality, developing and testing the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of sitting reduction interventions in different populations and contexts and then finally upscaling these interventions for implementation in real world settings.
